About the role
Rathnam Auto Components is a Chennai-based tier-two supplier of machined and sheet-metal parts to passenger vehicle and two-wheeler OEMs, running three plants with around 1,100 employees and IATF 16949 certification. We are hiring a Production Engineer for our Ambattur plant to own two CNC machining lines across shifts. You will be responsible for daily output, rejection control and manpower planning, working closely with quality and maintenance. The role suits engineers who like structured shop-floor problem solving and are comfortable presenting line data in customer audits.
Responsibilities
- Plan daily and weekly production schedules for two machining lines and track adherence
- Monitor OEE, cycle time and rejection data and lead corrective actions with the quality team
- Coordinate preventive maintenance slots with the maintenance department to cut unplanned downtime
- Supervise 25 to 30 operators across shifts including skill matrix and training records
- Drive kaizen and 5S initiatives and document them for IATF and customer audits
- Support new part trials with the development and tooling teams
