About the role

Rathnam Auto Components supplies machined and sheet-metal parts to vehicle manufacturers from three plants in and around Chennai. We are recruiting CNC turning and VMC operators for our Ambattur plant. Freshers with an ITI or diploma in mechanical, fitter or machinist trades are welcome; structured on-the-job training on Fanuc and Siemens controllers is provided in the first three months. The role involves rotating shifts, subsidised canteen and transport on fixed routes, ESI and PF from day one, and a clear path to setter and line-leader grades.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload components and run CNC turning or VMC machines to cycle
  • Check parts with vernier, micrometer and plug gauges at defined frequencies
  • Record production and rejection entries in the hourly log sheet
  • Carry out daily machine cleaning and first-level autonomous maintenance checks
  • Report tool wear, abnormal sound or dimensional drift to the setter immediately
