About the role

Kavachsure General Insurance handles a national motor and health claims litigation portfolio of over 30,000 active cases. Our Chennai zonal office is hiring an Assistant Manager to manage MACT and consumer forum litigation across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. You will evaluate cases for defence or settlement, negotiate compromise awards at lok adalats, manage empanelled counsel performance, and control claim outflow against reserving. LLB with four to eight years in insurance litigation, strong knowledge of the Motor Vehicles Act and Consumer Protection Act, and fluency in Tamil are required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage MACT and consumer forum cases across Tamil Nadu and Kerala
  • Evaluate liability and quantum and recommend defend-or-settle decisions
  • Negotiate settlements at lok adalats and pre-litigation forums
  • Monitor empanelled advocates on hearings, drafting quality and billing
  • Control litigation outflow against reserves and report variances
  • Ensure timely execution of awards and closure documentation
