About the role
Saarthi Freight operates full-truckload and part-load services across 160 lanes in north and west India, with 420 owned vehicles and a partner fleet of over 1,000 trucks. We are hiring a Fleet Operations Manager at our Gurugram control tower to own vehicle utilisation, placement reliability and trip profitability for the owned fleet. You will manage a team of eight fleet controllers, work with the maintenance and diesel teams, and be accountable for on-time placement above 94 percent. Prior experience in FTL trucking or express logistics is required.
Responsibilities
- Own daily placement, routing and utilisation of a 420-vehicle owned fleet
- Manage a team of eight fleet controllers across two shifts at the control tower
- Control trip costs including diesel, tolls and en-route expenses against budgets
- Coordinate preventive maintenance windows with workshops to protect availability
- Negotiate attachment terms with vehicle owners for peak-season capacity
- Publish weekly utilisation, placement and profitability reviews to leadership
